Tags & Categories
Creating Tags
Method 1: From DashboardStep: Open Tags Management
- On the Dashboard page, click the "Manage Tags" button in the filters section
- You'll be navigated to the Tags Management page
Step: Show Create Section
- Click the "+ Add New Tag" button
- The create tag section will appear
Step: Create Tag
- Enter a tag name in the "Tag name" field
- Click the color picker to choose a color for the tag
- Click the "Create" button
- The tag will be created and appear in the tags list
Step: Start Typing
- In the Create/Edit Link modal, click in the "Tags" input field
- Type the name of a new tag
Step: Create on Enter
- Press Enter to create the tag
- The tag will be created with a default color (#007bff)
- The tag will be automatically added to the link
Editing Tags
Step: Navigate to Tags Management
- Click "Manage Tags" from the Dashboard
- You'll see all your tags listed
Step: Edit Tag
- Find the tag you want to edit
- Click the "Edit" button next to the tag
- The tag will switch to edit mode
Step: Modify Tag
- Change the tag name in the input field
- Change the tag color using the color picker
- Click the "Save" button
- Or click "Cancel" to discard changes
Step: Verify Changes
- The tag will update immediately
- All links using this tag will reflect the new name and color
Deleting Tags
Step: Navigate to Tags Management
- Click "Manage Tags" from the Dashboard
Step: Delete Tag
- Find the tag you want to delete
- Click the "Delete" button next to the tag
- A confirmation dialog will appear: "Are you sure you want to delete this tag? It will be removed from all links."
Step: Confirm Deletion
- Click "OK" to confirm or "Cancel" to abort
- If confirmed, the tag will be deleted
- The tag will be removed from all links that had it assigned
Searching Tags
Step: Use Search
- On the Tags Management page, find the search input at the top
- Type your search term
- The tags list will filter in real-time as you type
Step: Clear Search
- Delete the search text to show all tags again
Creating Categories
Method 1: From DashboardStep: Open Categories Management
- On the Dashboard page, click the "Manage Categories" button in the filters section
- You'll be navigated to the Categories Management page
Step: Show Create Section
- Click the "+ Add New Category" button
- The create category section will appear
Step: Create Category
- Enter a category name in the "Category name" field
- Click the "Create" button
- The category will be created and appear in the categories list
- Categories must be created from the Categories Management page first
- Then they can be selected from the dropdown when creating/editing links
Editing Categories
Step: Navigate to Categories Management
- Click "Manage Categories" from the Dashboard
Step: Edit Category
- Find the category you want to edit
- Click the "Edit" button next to the category
- The category will switch to edit mode
Step: Modify Category
- Change the category name in the input field
- Click the "Save" button
- Or click "Cancel" to discard changes
Step: Verify Changes
- The category will update immediately
- All links using this category will reflect the new name
Deleting Categories
Step: Navigate to Categories Management
- Click "Manage Categories" from the Dashboard
Step: Delete Category
- Find the category you want to delete
- Click the "Delete" button next to the category
- A confirmation dialog will appear: "Are you sure you want to delete this category? Links using this category will lose their category assignment."
Step: Confirm Deletion
- Click "OK" to confirm or "Cancel" to abort
- If confirmed, the category will be deleted
- Links that had this category will have their category assignment removed (but the links themselves remain)
Searching Categories
Step: Use Search
- On the Categories Management page, find the search input at the top
- Type your search term
- The categories list will filter in real-time as you type
Step: Clear Search
- Delete the search text to show all categories again
Understanding Tag and Category Scope
Global Tags/Categories
- Created without selecting a domain
- Available across all domains
- Useful for organization-wide tagging
Domain-Specific Tags/Categories
- Created when a domain is selected in the domain selector
- Only available for that specific domain
- Useful for domain-specific organization
