Step: Open Create Link Modal

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard page (main page)
  2. Click the "Create Link" button in the top-right of the Link Management section
  3. The Create Link modal will open

Step: Select Domain

  1. In the "Domain" dropdown, select the domain you want to use for this link
  2. Important: Once a link is created, the domain cannot be changed. You'll need to create a new link to use a different domain.

Step: Select Route

  1. After selecting a domain, the "Route" dropdown will populate with available routes
  2. Select the route (path prefix) for this link (e.g., /go/*, /r/*)
  3. The route determines the URL pattern for your short link

Step: Enter Slug (Optional)

  1. In the "Slug" field, enter a custom short code for your link
  2. Optional: Leave empty to auto-generate a random slug
  3. Important: Once created, the slug cannot be changed. Create a new link for a different slug.

Step: Enter Destination URL

  1. In the "Destination URL" field, enter the full URL where the link should redirect
  2. Must be a valid URL starting with http:// or https://
  3. This is a required field

Step: Add Optional Information

  1. Title: Enter a descriptive title for the link (optional)
  2. Description: Add a description or notes about the link (optional)
  3. Redirect Code: Select the HTTP redirect code:

- 301 - Permanent: Best for SEO, tells search engines the move is permanent

- 302 - Temporary: Use for temporary redirects

- 307 - Temporary Redirect: Preserves request method

- 308 - Permanent Redirect: Preserves request method

Step: Assign Category (Optional)

  1. In the "Category" dropdown, select a category for the link
  2. If no categories exist, you can create one later and assign it when editing the link

Step: Add Tags (Optional)

  1. In the "Tags" input field, start typing to search for existing tags
  2. Click on a tag from the dropdown to select it
  3. To create a new tag, type the tag name and press Enter
  4. Selected tags appear as colored badges above the input
  5. Click the × on a tag badge to remove it

Step: Configure Advanced Redirects (Optional)

Country-Specific Redirects

  1. Check the "Enable Country-Specific Redirects" checkbox
  2. Click "+ Add Country" button
  3. Select a country from the dropdown
  4. Enter the destination URL for that country
  5. Repeat for up to 10 countries
  6. Users from selected countries will be redirected to their specific URL
  7. Users from other countries will use the default URL

Device-Specific Redirects

  1. Check the "Enable Device-Specific Redirects" checkbox
  2. Enter URLs for specific device types:

- Desktop URL: URL for desktop users (optional)

- Mobile URL: URL for mobile users (optional)

- Tablet URL: URL for tablet users (optional)

  1. Leave a device URL empty to use the default URL for that device type

Step: Create the Link

  1. Review all your settings
  2. Click the "Create Link" button
  3. The modal will close and you'll see a success notification
  4. The new link will appear in your links table

Step: Open Edit Modal

  1. In the links table, find the link you want to edit
  2. Click the "Edit" button in the Actions column
  3. The Edit Link modal will open

Step: Understand Edit Limitations

  1. Domain: Cannot be changed (field is disabled)
  2. Slug: Cannot be changed (field is disabled)
  3. All other fields: Can be modified

Step: Modify Link Properties

  1. Update the destination URL if needed
  2. Change the title or description
  3. Modify the redirect code
  4. Change the category
  5. Add or remove tags
  6. Update geo redirects or device redirects

Step: Save Changes

  1. Click the "Save Edit" button
  2. The modal will close and you'll see a success notification
  3. The updated link will refresh in the table

Step: Initiate Deletion

  1. In the links table, find the link you want to delete
  2. Click the "Delete" button in the Actions column
  3. A confirmation dialog will appear

Step: Confirm Deletion

  1. Read the confirmation message: "Are you sure you want to delete this link? This action cannot be undone."
  2. Click "OK" to confirm or "Cancel" to abort
  3. If confirmed, the link will be deleted and removed from the table
  4. You'll see a success notification
Warning: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All analytics data for the link will be preserved but the link will no longer function.
