Creating a New Link
Step: Open Create Link Modal
- Navigate to the Dashboard page (main page)
- Click the "Create Link" button in the top-right of the Link Management section
- The Create Link modal will open
Step: Select Domain
- In the "Domain" dropdown, select the domain you want to use for this link
- Important: Once a link is created, the domain cannot be changed. You'll need to create a new link to use a different domain.
Step: Select Route
- After selecting a domain, the "Route" dropdown will populate with available routes
- Select the route (path prefix) for this link (e.g.,
/go/*,/r/*) - The route determines the URL pattern for your short link
Step: Enter Slug (Optional)
- In the "Slug" field, enter a custom short code for your link
- Optional: Leave empty to auto-generate a random slug
- Important: Once created, the slug cannot be changed. Create a new link for a different slug.
Step: Enter Destination URL
- In the "Destination URL" field, enter the full URL where the link should redirect
- Must be a valid URL starting with
http://orhttps:// - This is a required field
Step: Add Optional Information
- Title: Enter a descriptive title for the link (optional)
- Description: Add a description or notes about the link (optional)
- Redirect Code: Select the HTTP redirect code:
- 301 - Permanent: Best for SEO, tells search engines the move is permanent
- 302 - Temporary: Use for temporary redirects
- 307 - Temporary Redirect: Preserves request method
- 308 - Permanent Redirect: Preserves request method
Step: Assign Category (Optional)
- In the "Category" dropdown, select a category for the link
- If no categories exist, you can create one later and assign it when editing the link
Step: Add Tags (Optional)
- In the "Tags" input field, start typing to search for existing tags
- Click on a tag from the dropdown to select it
- To create a new tag, type the tag name and press Enter
- Selected tags appear as colored badges above the input
- Click the × on a tag badge to remove it
Step: Configure Advanced Redirects (Optional)
Country-Specific Redirects
- Check the "Enable Country-Specific Redirects" checkbox
- Click "+ Add Country" button
- Select a country from the dropdown
- Enter the destination URL for that country
- Repeat for up to 10 countries
- Users from selected countries will be redirected to their specific URL
- Users from other countries will use the default URL
Device-Specific Redirects
- Check the "Enable Device-Specific Redirects" checkbox
- Enter URLs for specific device types:
- Desktop URL: URL for desktop users (optional)
- Mobile URL: URL for mobile users (optional)
- Tablet URL: URL for tablet users (optional)
- Leave a device URL empty to use the default URL for that device type
Step: Create the Link
- Review all your settings
- Click the "Create Link" button
- The modal will close and you'll see a success notification
- The new link will appear in your links table
